WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT for the LI Reunion Weekend Performances
The LT Div and Rifles Veterans Band has been asked to play two performances over the LI Reunion Weekend that this year marks the 50th Anniversary of the formation of the Light Infantry. This gives us a great platform by which to introduce ourselves to the Regimental family and the high ranking Officers who will hopefully grant funds to the band to allow us to move us forward. The details of the performances are below. All members of the Band are asked to complete the Reunion Weekend event form on the website to indicate whether or not you are prepared to perform at either or both of the events.
Despite the enthusiasm from band members to play at the LI Reunion only 8 band members have indicated that they will perform of these 7 have agreed to perform for the 2LI Reunion. The names of these 8 band members are listed on the website. Both Tex and I thank those that have thus far stepped up.
Both of these events give the Veterans Band excellent platforms to launch the band. We therefore urgently need the support of band members to commit to perform at these events. If you are already attending the Reunion Weekend and have not completed the Reunion Weekend event form on the website to indicate whether or not you are prepared to perform at either or both of the events.please do so by clicking here.
If you are considering whether or not to attend the Reunion which marks the 50th Anniversary of the end of our County Regiments and the start of the LI be assured it is going to be a Reunion not to be missed and importantly we need your support to launch the LT Div and Rifles Veterans Band. 2LI Reunion 15 June 2018 - 8 Rifles Reserve Centre - We have been asked by the 2LI Reunion committee to perform with the veteran buglers on Friday 15 June at about 20.00hrs.Tex has spoken to the 2LI Reunion committee and agreed there will be NO charge for the 2LI reunion. We will play a couple of short pieces and some bugle marches as per our last rehearsal.If the band members could wear dark trousers and a white shirt Tex will provide a 'Rifles' tie so we look the same.Please complete the Reunion Weekend event form and indicate whether or not you are prepared to perform at this function.
LI Reunion 16 June 2018 - Shrewsbury Town Football Ground - We have been asked by the LI Reunion committee to perform with the veteran buglers on Saturday 16 June during the 50th Anniversary of the forming of the Light Infantry.Tex has spoken to the LI Reunion committee and is wait for them to confirm NO cost for the Saturday reunion. We will play the same program at approx. 16.00hrs, after the parade.If the band members could wear dark trousers and a white shirt with a LI/Rifles tie so we look the same.Please complete the Reunion Weekend event form and indicate whether or not you are prepared to perform at this function.If people book in on the Reunion Weekend event form so that Tex can collect the passes in bulk and issue them on the day.
