2LI Reunion 15 June 2018 - 8Rifles Reserve Centre
We have been asked by the 2LI Reunion committee to perform with the veteran buglers on Friday 15 June at about 20.00hrs.
Tex has spoken to the 2LI Reunion committee and agreed there will be NO charge for the 2LI reunion. We will play a couple of short pieces and some bugle marches as per our last rehearsal.
If the band members could wear dark trousers and a white shirt Tex will provide a 'Rifles' tie so we look the same.
Please complete the Reunion Weekend event form and indicate whether or not you are prepared to perform at this function.
LI Reunion 16 June 2018 - Shrewsbury Town Football Ground
We have been asked by the LI Reunion committee to perform with the veteran buglers on Saturday 15 June during the 50th Anniversary of the forming of the Light Infantry.
Tex has spoken to the LI Reunion committee and is wait for them to confirm NO cost for the Saturday reunion. We will play the same program at approx. 16.00hrs, after the parade.
If the band members could wear dark trousers and a white shirt with a LI/Rifles tie so we look the same.
Please complete the Reunion Weekend event form and indicate whether or not you are prepared to perform at this function.
If people book in on the Reunion Weekend event form so that Tex can collect the passes in bulk and issue them on the day.
Band & Bugles Rehearsal

Thank to all the Musicians and Buglers for attending the rehearsal in Shrewsbury.
This rehearsal marked the 1st Anniversary of the Veterans Band. Since that first get together in 2017 we have been joined by: Ivor Evans; Tom Milford; John Limbert; Nigel Pattison; Barry James and Michael Bawden
September Rehearsal
Our September rehearsal was very well attended by musicians and buglers; thank you to everyone for your support.
We were joined by some new faces that included: John Limbert, cornet; Barry James, cornet; Tom Milford, cornet and Nigel Pattison, euphonium.
The morning was spent blowing through various pieces including some of 'Baz' Fozzard's arrangements. After a buffet lunch the band performed a couple of pieces to our buglers then together we played some Regimental marches, without the dots.
Our next rehearsal is in Shrewsbury on 3 Feb 18 at 8RIFLES Army Reserve Centre on Copthorne Road. We need more former Lt Div and Rifles musicians - come along a join us it doesn't matter how long it is since you last played, its about enjoying the music and meeting old friends. To book please complete the registration form in Events. Book your accommodation and we look forward to seeing you on Feb 18.

We are all former military musicians who served in at least one of the regimental bands of The Light Infantry or The Royal Green Jackets that made up the massed bands of the Light Division.
Since leaving the army some of the musicians have continued to perform in civilian bands, some only play for their own enjoyment while, a few continue to be involved within military music as members of Reservist Military Bands or Cadet Force Bands.
